The Knesset Absorption Committee Praises Meir Panim

The Committee received updates on the activities and came to the conclusion that organizations should be encouraged to give assistance through prepaid shopping cards which allows the purchase of groceries according to each individuals needs “just as Meir Panim does”.

During the debate, Aharon Molotakovski, Chairman of the organization for Holocaust survivors in Ashdod, praised Meir Panim for the distribution of magnetic prepaid shopping cards. Other organizational heads also referred to Meir Panim and to the organized and delicate manner in which it serves the needy. Among its many decisions, the committee requested that magnetic cards replace the traditional holiday food packages.

In partnership with the Company for Location and Restitution of Holocaust Victims Assets, Meir Panim distributes 300 food cards each month to elderly Holocaust survivors in 40 different cities throughout Israel.
