From Antwerp to Kiryat Malachi

The visit included the participation of the students in a “Kindness Day” in which they enthusiastically volunteered in Meir Panim’s soup kitchen in Kiryat Malachi and packaged thousands of hot food portions for children in the local Netzach Yisrael School.

Later, these guest students, dressed in shirts and hats with the Meir Panim logo, marched from the soup kitchen to the Netzach Yisrael School where they participated in a moving Bar/Bat-Mitzvah ceremony for the children of bot...

Children at Rodeph Sholom School Make a Difference

At Rodeph Sholom School, students have an opportunity to meet representatives from three organizations, learn more about them in their classrooms, and then think about the significance of both education and donations.

“Want to buy a cookie? Your money will really help children all around the world!” “Raffle tickets for an Ipod sold right here.” “Come to our puppet show. Your money will go towards a great cause!” These were sounds from some of the voices of Rodeph Sholom School st...

Many kids with difficulties on one hand and the limited number of assessment and treatment services on the other have resulted in a dismal situation: Many children with developmental issues are receiving no care.

A Bar Mitzvah Goal

In addition to all the other preparations necessary for this very important event, Zach expressed a desire to do something to help children less fortunate than him.

On a visit to Kiryat Malachi, Zach, his brother Joshua, and his parents met the children of the Meir Panim after school program. When a shared love of soccer brought the boys together on the soccer field, a decision was made. As a project for his Bar Mitzvah, Zach plans to raise money to provide the children in Kirya...

Why is this Seder Different from Those in Other Years?

“You have no idea how I enjoyed myself. Each year on Seder night I go to sleep because I have nothing to do on the holiday. But this year, I was invited to participate in the Seder that Meir Panim organized at the Caesar Hotel, and it was excellent. I felt the holiday spirit which I had not experienced in a long time…” This testimony came from an elderly woman who comes to eat her daily lunch at the Jerusalem branch of Meir Panim.

Hazor: Dozens of people gath...

An experience to remember – Becoming a Bat Mitzvah elbow deep in Israeli salad!

On Thursday, April 12, Jenna, her siblings and her parents woke up early in the morning to travel to Kiryat Malachi to prepare hot lunches for needy children in Kiryat Malachi. Elbow deep in Israeli salad, Jenna became a Bat Mitzvah – a doer of good deeds - and as the Kershenbaums say: "The rest is just….gravy".

Jenna and her family were joined by the Kalker family, another family intent on helping those less fortunate than themselves. In addition to scooping out couscous and ...

Bat Mitzvah girl chooses to raise funds for Meir Panim to help sponsor meals for a class of children in Israel.

A beautiful card was sent with her invitation, asking friends and family to join her in support of Meir Panim.

She also made a beautiful and touching speech highlighting Mother Rachel's trait of lovingkindness and care and concern for the children of Israel, which she chose to emulate in honor of her becoming of age. Here is an excerpt of her speech:

“ Each one of us has a piece of Rachel in us. We each have the power to sacrifice for our nation, to perform acts ...
