The Minister welcomed the organizations with warmth and admiration and particularly praised Meir Panim's work for over a decade. The Minister also praised the Reshet Communications Network for leading the way in communal responsibility through its ongoing partnership with Meir Panim.

A Special Celebration in Or Akiva

The 8 day old baby was born to a single mother who has long been a member of the Meir Panim family in the small city of Or Akiva. With the birth of a boy, the Meir Panim staff took it upon themselves, as the mother's extended family, to organize and host the Brit Milah and the Seudat Mitzvah (festive meal). Food Collection Campaign

This year the campaign was a resounding success as boxes and boxes of packaged foods came flooding in from branches across the country. The boxes were loaded with dry goods such as pasta, rice, sugar, oil – basic necessities that many households cannot afford to purchase. Amongst the packages were also snacks designed to bring a smile to the faces of the children receiving these packages.

A Helping Hand and an Open Heart

Shoshana was celebrating her Bat Mitzvah and chose to perform an act of Chessed to start her adult life off on the right foot.

The Schreiers not only lent a hand at their visit, but they also opened their hearts and gave a contribution to help sponsor the Bat Mitzvah celebrations for three disadvantaged Israeli girls in Israel. Part of the contribution came from Rabbi Schreier's shul charity fund.

The Knesset Absorption Committee Praises Meir Panim

The Committee received updates on the activities and came to the conclusion that organizations should be encouraged to give assistance through prepaid shopping cards which allows the purchase of groceries according to each individuals needs “just as Meir Panim does”.

IDF Soldiers and Meir Panim

The day began with a short explanation on Meir Panim and its ten-year evolvement. The soldiers viewed a video showing not only the dire need among Israeli society but also the multitude of programs offered by Meir Panim to help those in need.

“Ohr Layeled” Summer Course Deemed a Success

The course took place at the Ohr Akiva Youth Center, under the management of Ms. Zehavi Ohana, who graciously agreed to host the program at the center. Rabbi Shalom Suissa invested in each and every child and instilled in the children the message of love and respect for all.

German Tourist Group Chooses Meir Panim

The group was on a two-week tour of Israel with a focus on the people of Israel in their homeland. As part of their comprehensive program, the group sought out opportunities to lend a helping hand.
