Meir Panim lights up Los Angeles

1st street between Alta Vista and Formosa was closed to traffic early in the day in preparation for a Purim Chagiga and Kumzitz to benefit Meir Panim.

Bar Mitzvah Boy Raises $1,800 through Candy Sales

Noah was so influenced by the importance of providing meals for hungry children he decided his Bar Mitzvah project would benefit Meir Panim’s Meals for Children program. He decided to purchase candy with his own money and sell the candy to his fellow students donating all the proceeds to Meir Panim. Kosherexpo 2007 In Uk Great Success

There was a wide variety of products to sample and purchase from sushi to ice cream to confectionary and baked goods. Several companies launched new ranges at the show, generating considerable interest. Whilst people enjoyed the free food and wine sampling, they were also entertained by Celebrity Chef Denise Phillips, wine tasting by Illi Adato, and guest speaker Rabbi Daniel Rowe from Aish UK.

A Bat Mitzvah Girl Enriches The Lives of Less Fortunate Jerusalemites

When it came time for Hannah Schmelzer to reap the fruits of her Bat Mitzvah celebration in January 2007, the young lady made a life altering decision that accentuated the essence of ‘chesed’.

She sent out dozens of memos to family members and friends urging them to redirect Bat Mitzvah checks to Meir Panim’s Relief Centers in Israel.

Greenburgh Hebrew Center Group Performs Chesed In Jerusalem

Several families brought their children with them to partake in the chesed activities and celebrate their forthcoming Bar Mitzvahs amidst the beauty of Jerusalem. Meir Panim Relief Centers throughout Israel have become an integral part of many synagogue and organizational missions to Israel. Yeshiva of Flatbush Students Trade Winter Vacation For Chesed In Israel

Rabbi Naftali Besser, Dean of Students, led the group to Israel where they met Moshe Lefkowitz, one of Meir Panim’s outreach directors, who explained how the organization, which has branches throughout Israel, prepares thousands of meals each day for indigent Israeli citizens of all ages. The students-both boys and girls-rotated morning shifts at the Meir Panim soup kitchen in Jerusalem, where they prepared fruits and vegetables for the tasty lunch meals that are served to local citizens.

Brigadier General Gal Hirsch is recruited to help Meir Panim

Following the conclusions of the Almog Committee after the war, Gal Hirsch decided to leave his military position and to devote himself to social and welfare projects in Israel.

Following this decision, Gal Hirsch met with Meir Panim Chairman Dudi Zilbershlag. This meeting of the two experts in their fields was not only productive, but also marked the beginning of a strong friendship. Synagogue of the Suburban Torah Center of Livingston, raises $31,000 to help Meir Panim

Thanks to the efforts of our dedicated friends Mr. Ailon Maik and Dr. George Weinberger who hosted a beautiful shabbath on behalf of Meir Panim, the Chesed Committee of SSTC, in concurrence with Rabbi Feuerstein and the Board of Directors, selected Meir Panim as recipient organization of their Annual Chesed Campaign for Israel.

Carnegie Hall Concert & Gala will help Meir Panim feed 50,000 Children

On January 30th, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, celebrating its 70th Anniversary, performed in Carnegie Hall in tribute to Meir Panim Relief Centers, which feed and care for Israel’s neediest children and families.

The concert was preceded by a Gala Benefit Dinner in memory of the late Leon Levy, z”l, prominent community leader and avid supporter of Jewish and humanitarian causes worldwide.

Actor Aki Avni charms needy Israeli children with his famous smile

And what a wonderful visit it was. The principal of Kiryat Malachi, Ayala Hagag, explained the importance and success of the program to the famous guest, moving him to tears. The air was charged with extra-special warmth, spirit and emotion - and beautiful, beautiful singing. Then the children presented the actor with two scrapbooks especially prepared in his honor to express their love.
