Meir Panim Update
A recipe for charity
January 1, 1970

Kayla collected recipes from family, friends, and neighbors, and compiled them in a special cookbook. Each cookbook sold for $18, with proceeds going to Meir Panim.  She managed to collect 120 recipes from mostly the New Rochelle, NY community and family.

Kayla related, “I had an opportunity to participate in a fund raising event at Lincoln Center to sing with many school choirs in an effort to raise money for Meir Panim Relief Centers. This special event made a very big impact on my life that I will never forget.
In honor of my Bat Mitzvah, I decided to do a chesed project to raise money for this important organization. I made this cookbook so not only I can participate in doing a huge mitzvah but include my family and community.”

Thanks to Kayla and the entire Roisman family’s efforts, over $3,500 has been raised!

Kayla’s mother described the joyous Bat Mitzvah celebration, “The Bat Mitzvah celebration was a special night with our family & friends. Everyone was so proud of Kayla’s efforts on behalf of Meir Panim and it was interesting to find out that a number of people have volunteered in the soup kitchens in Israel!”
